With a drive to introduce new genetics into the Sheriff Alpaca herd, Caroline contacted Lynn Edens at Snowmass Alpacas with very specific criteria ... uniformity!
With the advancements in the alpaca industry this really did seem to be of highest priority, and just to be greedy, I asked for excellent bone and frame, good micron, density, length and ability to produce colour was thrown in to the mix!
Lynn did not disappoint with her selection and from what was offered Forgotten Rondezvous stood out. We had a long wait for him to arrive but it was worth it. This male has incredible substance of bone, strong frame, superb fleece coverage and outstanding length.
His fleece is fine, soft, bright and exceptionally uniform. Although he is white he has been colour tested and can do colour eeAa [we will soon find out with 15 cria due from May 2024]
His grid sample [5 different places] from 2021 [2 years old] was 17.5 micron, SD 2.9, curv 56.7. His 5th fleece at Sheriff is still 20 micron with an SD of 3.1. So this male is holding his fineness and uniformity.
