General Terms and Conditions

We strongly advise that all customers read our “Terms and Conditions” to avoid disappointment.

By booking or purchasing vouchers from us you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions. If you have any questions regarding these please don't hesitate to get in touch and we would be happy to discuss them with you prior to booking.

​

When booking for other's on their behalf you are responsible for the agreement of the terms & conditions so it is advised these T&Cs are shared with them too. 

​

Sheriff Alpacas Experience Terms and Conditions-

​

General: 

​

Please ensure you check your email/ phone the night before and on the day of your experience for any updates regarding the session. 

​

Please arrive 10/15 minutes before the scheduled start time as sessions will start on time.

Please allow enough time to travel and let us know if you are running late as once the session has begun at the time stated we will be unable to accommodate late arrivals on the session and no refunds will be given.

 

On Arrival if the gates are closed to the carpark please wait just outside for a member of staff to open these. Do not open as there maybe animals loose around the farm if we are moving them paddocks.

Should you need to contact us on the day of your experience or you are running late please call  07395102253 (please note the phone is unmanned on days we are closed and once an experience has started)

​

Alpacas are social animals and walk in groups, so all walk bookings except 1:1 sessions must include two alpacas, if we have insufficient numbers we will have to re book the session. 

​

NO dogs allowed onsite, this includes leaving them in the car during the session as this can spook the alpacas if they can hear/see them. Please leave your dogs at home. We reserve the right to refuse participation on the session for anyone with a dog in the car and no refunds will be given.

​

There is a single toilet and hand washing facility on the farm.

​

Alpacas are on a very strict diet and human food can make them very ill. No food must be consumed during the sessions.

 

Gift vouchers are non refundable and non extendable and must be redeemed by the date shown on the voucher or 6 months from purchase. 

 

Our walk route as part of the walking experience  is not suitable for pushchairs/wheelchairs (please do get in touch if you would like an experience for a wheelchair user)

 

​A risk assessment has been undertaken for the walking route and is available upon request.

 

We try to stick as close to our time as possible,  If you are time restricted and need to leave at a certain time please let us know at the start of the session.

 

During the walk we might ask you if we can take photos that will be published to our social media profiles and website, please let us know if you do not want your photo taken.

​

Clothing/Shoes:

Customers must dress appropriately, this is a working farm and outdoors. Please bear this in mind as shoes/clothing can get dirty and we will not be held responsible for this or compensating for damages to clothing/shoes.

​

Closed toe sturdy shoes must be worn, no open toes shoes such as sandals/flip flops or high heels are permitted. 

 

All footwear must be disinfected on the disinfectant mats on arrival to the farm, the leader will show you wear this is. 

​

We still walk in light rain so please dress for the weather and bring waterproofs if necessary.

​

In Summer time we recommend for customers to wear insect/fly repellent due to the  experience taking part in/near woodland sometimes due to the warm weather there can be midges/horseflies about.

​

We reserve the right to refuse participation on the session for anyone not wearing appropriate shoes/clothing and no refunds will be given.

​

Health & Safety 

​

A safety briefing is given at the beginning of the session all participants must adhere to the information provided in this briefing anyone not adhering will be asked to leave the session and no refunds will be given.

​

​​All sessions are supervised by a suitably trained and experienced person with first aid qualification

 

Customers are not permitted to take the alpacas unaccompanied or leave the group with their alpaca.

 

There will be a maximum of 6 alpacas per walk for mixed groups please remember that you may be sharing your walk with other people and respect the other people on the session. 

​

All children must be accompanied by a responsible adult (aged 18 years +).

​

Children under the age of 14 must share an alpaca with a full paying responsible adult (not a Spectator) over the age of 18 â€‹max 1 child per adult 

​

Hand washing facilities are provided and you must wash your hands after touching the alpacas.. Those who accompany children have responsibility and must ensure that adequate hand washing takes place.

​

We must be made aware of any medical condition or physical impairment which may affect your ability to participate. This includes; visual or hearing impairments and pregnancy.

If you are unsure of your ability to participate or unsure of which option to choose, please get in touch.

Cancellations and Refunds:

If you wish to cancel any cancellations made 14 or more days before the session we can happily change the date or refund the session.

​

any cancellations made 7 to 14 days before the session unfortunately Cannot be refunded however we will happily change the date for you a maximum of 1 time per booking.

​

any cancellations made less than 7 days before the session unfortunately Cannot be rescheduled or refunded. This is to allow us time to readvertise the availability.

​

ANY Cancellations must take place in writing to sheriffalpaca@gmail.com

​

If we have to cancel your session due to bad weather/animal illness and we deem this unsuitable to go ahead with the session. we will offer alternative dates to reschedule the session too and try our best to work around your availability too  unfortunately we are unable to give refunds for circumstances out of our control.  

​

In rare event that the government impose any national local/national restrictions due to animal health outbreak/ a pandemic the session may be affected and we may need to temporary close and cancel. if this does happen we will offer you to rebook with us for up to 12 months of us reopening unfortunately as these circumstances are beyond our control no refunds will be given.

Examples of these rare outbreaks: TB, Bluetounge, Foot & Mouth disease, Avian Flu, Covid 19 or any other virus/disease/illness.

​Data Protection:​

​​​​​​We take your privacy seriously. Sheriff alpacas will only use your personal contact details in order to complete the booking process and to inform you of updates and offers relating to the farm if you have asked us to.

We retain this information with your booking record for the standard accounting period of six years. Your personal details will not be used for any other purpose or passed on to any other third party.

Our secure online payment processor for bookings is Paypal and Card payments are taken via Sumup onsite
